UNDERSTANDING OPTISLIM'S VLCD PROGRAM

On our VLCD (Very Low-Calorie Diet) program, you replace one, two, or even three meals per day from our VLCD range with a couple of snacks in between. Our low-calorie snack bites and cookies are great snacking options!

How many meals you replace per day depends on your specific weight loss goals. Below, you can read more about the different weight loss phases.

BENEFITS OF OUR VLCD PROGRAM

1. Weight Loss

The most obvious benefit of an VLCD is weight loss. By limiting calorie intake, the body is forced to burn stored fat for energy, resulting in weight loss.

VLCDs have been shown to increase the body’s metabolism, meaning that it burns more calories even at rest. This is because the body adapts to the reduced calorie intake by becoming more efficient at burning energy.

VLCD PROGRAM PHASES

Optislim VLCD Program is a weight loss program designed to help individuals lose weight rapidly by consuming a very low-calorie diet. The program typically consists of three phases:

Rapid Weight Loss Phase (Phase 1)

This is the initial and most restrictive phase of the Optislim VLCD program. This stage is suitable for people with a BMI greater than 30. During this phase, you consume a very low-calorie diet, replacing all three meals with any of Optislim’s meal replacement products including shakes, soups, and bars. These products are designed to provide essential nutrients while keeping your daily calorie intake extremely low, not exceeding 800 calories per day.

Depending on your weight loss goals, this phase typically lasts a few weeks. In addition to Optislim’s meal replacement products, you should eat two cups of mainly green vegetables to contribute to fibre intake. Drinking at least 2 litres of water is also important to help flush waste from the fat-burning process.

Steady Weight Loss Phase (Phase 2)

After you’ve achieved your desired weight loss or completed Phase 1, you enter the Steady Weight Loss Phase. In this phase, you replace two meals per day in addition to a regular meal and snacks. (Both of which should be nutritious and well-balanced). You can eat 1-2 snacks per day with 100 calories each.
Although the calorie intake is increased, it’s still controlled and monitored to ensure you continue to lose weight slowly or maintain your current weight.

Maintenance Phase (Phase 3)

This phase is about long-term weight management. You’re encouraged to maintain a healthy, balanced diet by replacing one meal per day with either an Optislim shake, soup or bar and the rest of your meals and snacks made up from regular foods. The goal is to sustain your weight loss and develop healthy eating habits for the future.
